Tim advises clients across the whole economic brief, from interest rates to equities, indices, commodities and options. He shares insights on economic developments relating to specific asset classes and provides bespoke trading strategies and execution.
Tim enjoys the daily joust of the markets and doing his absolute best for clients. Over an almost 40-year career, he has helped clients and employers weather many historic financial challenges, including the floating of the Kiwi dollar, the 1987 stock market crash, the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the Y2K bug, the dot-com crash, the global financial crisis and the market turbulence in the wake of Covid-19.
Prior to joining Jarden in 2004, Tim held roles with South Africa’s Standard Bank, Ord Minnett New Zealand, Cavill White Securities, Jordan Sandman Smythe and BNZ Finance.
He has regularly featured in the New Zealand Herald, providing an expert opinion on global commodity prices, and he often presents to industry groups.
Tim is kept busy with three teenage boys and three adult children, but also finds time for boating, hunting and keeping fit. He has a BBS from Massey University and is an NZX Derivatives Adviser.
