Roy Savage
Director, Wealth Management Adviser
With over 35 years’ experience, Roy Savage could tell a story or two about the New Zealand financial markets.
Roy was an institutional trader of bonds, futures and options over a decade that saw the demise of the Muldoon government, the floating of the New Zealand dollar and deregulation under Roger Douglas. He was later Treasurer of Citibank NZ and then Group Treasurer of Zespri. He was also the Chief Financial Officer at Celentis, a crown entity charged with commercialising the intellectual property of AgResearch Science.
Roy joined Jarden as a wealth management adviser in 2005. He’s known as a safe pair of hands, taking care of intergenerational wealth for private clients, family trusts and iwi, as well as advising select institutional clients and financial intermediaries.
Roy has a BCA from Victoria University of Wellington, is an NZX Adviser and an NZX Derivatives Adviser. He is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors and a certified member of INFINZ. He enjoys the outdoors including hunting, diving, hiking, skiing, aviation, celestial navigation and wilderness travel. He actively contributes to the community, formally as a rural volunteer firefighter and director of Coastguard Northern Region.
