Fraser Whineray

Executive Chair, Jarden Group

Fraser assumed the role of Executive Chair in July 2024.

A dual citizen of New Zealand and Australia, Fraser has had a distinguished multi-decade executive career across various industries. Now focused on governance, his current roles include WM New Zealand, Port of Tauranga and its majority owner, Quayside Holdings, and AgriZeroNZ.  Jarden is his sole executive chair role. 

Fraser began his career at the NZ Dairy Board and in 1997 joined CS First Boston in New Zealand, which later became Jarden. His extensive leadership spans multiple sectors in New Zealand and internationally, including Tilt Renewables.  His most recent roles were Chief Executive of Mercury NZ and Chief Operating Officer of Fonterra. In 2019, he was awarded the Deloitte 200 Chief Executive of the Year in New Zealand. 

Fraser’s original qualifications in chemical engineering and dairy science were followed in 2000 with an MBA from Cambridge University where he currently holds a Visting Fellow honorary appointment.
